Shipping Policy – Silkworm Orders

Shipping Schedule

We ship silkworm orders on Monday and Tuesday mornings to help ensure timely delivery and reduce the risk of weekend carrier delays.

  • Orders placed Monday will typically ship the same day or early Tuesday
  • Orders placed Tuesday through Sunday will ship the following Monday

Shipping schedules may be adjusted during holidays, weather events, or unforeseen circumstances.

Shipping Methods

USPS Priority Mail (Standard Shipping)

Our standard shipping method is USPS Priority Mail.

Delivery times are estimated and may exceed the typical 2–3 day window. Delivery times are not guaranteed by USPS or FramsChams, and delays may occur.

USPS Priority Mail Express

Priority Mail Express offers expedited delivery, typically within 1–2 days by 6 PM.

UPS Shipping Options

UPS 2nd Day Air and 3-Day Select may be available at checkout and often provide more consistent delivery times compared to USPS.

All UPS shipments are sent directly to your delivery address unless otherwise requested.

Tracking Information

Tracking numbers are automatically sent via email on your shipping day (Monday or Tuesday).

If you do not receive a tracking email, please check your spam or junk folder first. If needed, contact us and we will resend your tracking information.

Delivery Responsibility

Someone should be available to receive the package immediately upon delivery.

Silkworms are sensitive to temperature fluctuations, and delays in retrieval from mailboxes, porches, or outdoor locations may result in loss of live arrival conditions.

For this reason, we strongly recommend Hold for Pickup shipping whenever possible.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Our Live Arrival Guarantee applies only under the conditions outlined below.

To qualify for Live Arrival Guarantee:

  • The package is shipped using Hold for Pickup at a USPS facility, or
  • The package is shipped using Express, Overnight, or Next Day services, and
  • All shipping instructions are followed at checkout or communicated prior to shipment

If “Hold for Pickup” is not selected or requested prior to shipment, the order will be shipped to the delivery address on file and will not qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee.

DOA (Dead on Arrival) Claims

If your order qualifies under the Live Arrival Guarantee and arrives deceased:

  • Claims must be submitted within:
    • 6 hours of USPS pickup scan time (Hold for Pickup orders), or
    • 1 hour of confirmed delivery (Express / home delivery orders)

To file a claim:

  • Email us with your full order name
  • Include clear photos or video of the product
  • Tracking information will be used to verify delivery time

Approved claims will be replaced on our next scheduled shipping day.

Claims submitted outside of the time window are not eligible.

Temperature & Weather Conditions

Live arrival coverage does not apply during extreme weather conditions.

Silkworms are hardy, but temperature extremes may impact survival during transit.

Cold Weather (Below 40°F daytime)

We recommend using a heat pack and/or phase pack to help stabilize temperatures.

Hot Weather (Above 90°F daytime)

We recommend a phase pack to reduce heat exposure during transit.

Even with temperature control packs, shipments during extreme conditions are considered at customer risk.

Shipping Delays

We may delay or skip shipping weeks due to:

  • Holidays
  • Weather conditions
  • Carrier disruptions
  • Unforeseen operational needs

When possible, delays will be communicated via website updates, email, or social media.

Subscription Orders

Silkworm subscription customers may manage their orders at any time through the customer portal.

Customers can:

  • Add heat or phase packs
  • Skip shipments
  • Request Hold for Pickup
